The Center for Geometry and Computational Design combines several areas of excellence in research at Vienna University of Technology: Applied Geometry, Visual Computing, Innovative Projects in Architecture and the Arts, and Integration of Digital and Physical Design Methods. The center aims at an increase in research funding and international visibility, and at the establishment of strong research cooperation with national and international partners, both from academia and industry. Its activities include the organization of conferences, the establishment of training workshops and summer schools, and the establishment of special courses on emerging topics in geometry and computational design. The center shall also become the origin of a program in Computational Design at Vienna University of Technology, which will be unique through its strong roots in Mathematics and Computer Science.
