Time: Wednesday 03 June, 11:00 am
Place: Online via meeting tool
Abstract:
Project leader Iva Kovacic will give a short introduction into the project, which aims at enabling the reuse of building materials and the reduction of energy consumption using gamification concept.
Ildar Gilmutdinov is going to talk about
“Semi-Automatic BIM-Model Generation”
BIM (Building Information Modeling) of a building stands for a digital representation of its physical and functional characteristics. In a typical Scan-to-BIM process, extensive human labor is required in order to generate a geometric model from an input point cloud, classify objects and establish their relationships. While introducing semantic information into a BIM-model may require a professional engineer, geometry generation may be delegated. We demonstrate a computational process for semi-automatization of this task.
Peter Kán is going to talk about
“Building Information Monitoring via Gamification”
Monitoring of building information, including power usage, heating status, occupancy, and other factors, is of high importance for efficient building management. In this talk we present a novel methodology for monitoring information about building via gamification. In our approach, the facility staff records the states of building elements by playing a competitive mobile game. Personal mobile phones of employees are used as a tool to identify objects of interest and report their state. This way the users of the mobile game are collecting points and compete with each other. At the end of the game the winning team gets the reward. We utilized various strategies to increase motivation of users to collect building data. Finally, we ran an experiment with real use case building in which the employees used our system for the duration of three months. We studied our approach and our motivation strategies in a post-experiment study.
