Dynamic elements are attractive in Architecture, Art and Design. For some purposes, such as shading systems, they are important for function, for others like „Transformable Design” they enhance the artistic expression through shape changes over time. We perform research in this direction, based on our expertise in kinematics and the geometric design of mechanisms/robots. Our understanding of flexible geometric models and the conception of performance indices also paves the way towards the solution of optimization and automation problems in various industries.
